In Memorium: Dave Jepsen

We are sadden at the passing of Dave Jepsen, a leader and visionary in the AEC industry.

Dave had many accomplishments as an architect, including his leadership at Jeter, Cook & Jepson. Through his leadership, the firm, now known as JCJ, grew from a small local practice to a staff of over 200 employees, with offices in several states.

In 2000 Dave was named to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. During the years, he served with many professional and community organizations. These included leadership positions as trustee, and board chairmanships focusing on institutional leadership, finance, facilities, audit & governance. To name a few, his commitments included the School of Architecture at RPI, Cheshire Academy, the Construction Institute at the University of Hartford, The New Britain Museum of American Art, The Wadsworth Atheneum and The Elizabeth Park Conservancy. In many instances he continued on to serve as an honorary board member and trustee emeritus.

Dave helped shape the foundations of the Construction Institute and believed passionately in its vision of igniting collaboration among the professions in the AEC industry. JCJ is one of the oldest members of the Institute.

Dave contributed an important chapter to the Institute's 2018 book - The Future of the Design and Construction Industry. You can read his chapter on CI's blog - From Old to New: The Modern Challenges of Changing Industry Models, by Dave Jepson.
